New to the NDIS or just getting to know us? Here are answers to the questions we hear most. Can’t find what you’re after? We’re only a phone call away.
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is Australia’s national scheme that funds reasonable and necessary supports for people with a permanent and significant disability, helping them pursue their goals and live more independently. Our How NDIS Works page explains it in plain English.
Am I eligible for the NDIS?
Generally, you’ll need to be under 65 when you apply, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and live with a permanent and significant disability that affects your daily life. If you’re unsure, give us a call and we’ll help you understand your options.
How do I start receiving support from Ram Support Services?
Just reach out — call us, send an enquiry through our contact page, or have someone refer you via our referral form. We’ll arrange a friendly chat to understand your goals, then set up a service agreement and match you with the right support team.
Which areas do you service?
We provide support across Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. If you’re nearby but not sure whether we cover your area, get in touch and we’ll let you know.
What types of support do you offer?
We offer a broad range of supports including Supported Independent Living, in-home and personal care, complex and community nursing care, community access, support coordination, mental health support, transport, respite and hospital discharge support. Explore them all on our NDIS Support page.
How are your support workers selected and trained?
Our workers are carefully screened — including NDIS Worker Screening and background checks — and are trained, experienced and chosen for their genuine care. We also invest in ongoing training so your support keeps getting better.
Can I choose my support worker?
Absolutely. We take the time to match you with workers who suit your needs, routine and personality, and we’ll always try to keep your support consistent. If something isn’t working, just tell us and we’ll make it right.
What happens if my needs change?
Your support is designed to flex with you. As your goals or circumstances shift, we adjust your supports to match — and we check in regularly to make sure everything’s still working well.
How does billing work with my NDIS plan?
It depends on how your plan is managed. Whether you’re NDIA-managed, plan-managed or self-managed, we’ll set up a clear service agreement and claim or invoice for supports in line with the NDIS Price Guide — so there are no surprises.
Do you offer respite and emergency support?
Yes. We provide planned and overnight short term respite, and we can often step in at short notice for emergencies. Take a look at our Short Term Respite Care page for details.
Can someone refer a participant on their behalf?
Yes — families, support coordinators, LACs and health professionals are all welcome to refer someone. The quickest way is our Refer a Participant form.
Whether you're new to the NDIS or just looking for a provider who listens, we'd love to hear from you. No pressure — just a friendly chat about what you need.
