Community Support

Stay active, social and connected to the life around you

Being part of your community does wonders for your wellbeing — for confidence, friendships, purpose and simple everyday joy. Community access is about making sure that a disability or support need never gets in the way of showing up to the people, places and activities that matter to you. Whether it’s a regular class, a catch-up with friends, a community group or a day out, we’re there to help you take part, on your terms and at your pace.

For some people, the barrier is transport; for others it’s confidence, mobility or simply having someone alongside them. Whatever’s been holding you back, our role is to make getting out into the world feel easy and enjoyable rather than stressful or daunting.

Getting out and about should feel good, not like an outing arranged for you. That’s why everything starts from your interests and your pace — a regular catch-up, a class you’ve always fancied, a quiet walk somewhere green, or a busy week of activities. Whether you’re rebuilding confidence after a tough stretch or simply want more in your week, we’ll go at the speed that suits you and gradually open up whatever you’d like to do more of.

Ways we help you get out and about

Getting out & about

Social connection

Visit friends, join groups and stay an active part of your community.

Programs & classes

A hand to take part in the courses, hobbies and activities that interest you.

Outings & experiences

Trips to parks, markets, events and the places you love to go.

Building confidence

Encouragement and support to try new things and grow your independence.

Skill-building

Support to build the everyday skills that make getting out easier over time.

Who community access supports

Community access suits anyone who wants to be more involved in life beyond the home but needs some support to do it. That might be someone looking to build social connections and beat isolation, a person wanting to develop independence and confidence in the community, or someone who simply needs reliable, friendly help to get to the activities they enjoy. It’s especially valuable for building the kind of routine and relationships that make daily life richer.

Whether your goal is a busy social calendar or just getting out a little more often, we’ll meet you where you are and help you build from there.

Talk to a real person

Questions about funding, availability or where to start? We’re glad to help no jargon, no pressure.

Support shaped around what you enjoy

This is your life and your community, so it starts with what you want to do — not a fixed program. We take the time to understand your interests, your goals and your comfort level, then match you with support workers who share your enthusiasm and put you at ease. We work to keep that support consistent, so you’re heading out with someone familiar who knows what matters to you.

As your confidence grows, the support can evolve — perhaps stepping back as you become more independent, or branching into new activities as your interests expand. It’s entirely led by you.

Funding community access through your NDIS plan

Assistance with social and community participation is commonly funded under Core Supports in an NDIS plan, while skill-building activities may fall under Capacity Building. If you’d like help making the most of this funding, our support coordination team can help you put it to good use. Connection, activity and a sense of belonging are good for all of us. If you’d like support to get out and make the most of your community, we’d love to help you do exactly that.
