Skilled, attentive support for complex health needs

Some support needs go beyond the everyday and call for an extra level of clinical skill, training and confidence. Complex care — sometimes called high-intensity support — is for people whose daily needs require workers with specialised competencies, delivered safely and consistently in the comfort of their own home. It’s about making sure that even the most involved health needs never stand in the way of living well, with dignity, at home.

We understand that complex needs can feel daunting, both for participants and their families. Our approach is calm, capable and deeply respectful: we follow your care plan and clinical guidance closely, we keep a careful eye on any changes, and we work in step with your health team so your support is seamless and safe at every turn.

Behind every complex care arrangement is careful planning. Before support begins, we work with you, your family and your treating professionals to understand exactly what’s needed and to document it clearly, so every worker who supports you is following the same plan, the same way. It means fewer surprises, safer care, and the reassurance that comes from knowing your support is built on a proper understanding of your health rather than guesswork. As your situation changes, we update that plan with you, keeping your care accurate and responsive.

Who complex care is for

Complex care suits people living with high or complex support needs arising from conditions such as spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, or other situations requiring high-intensity daily support. It’s also valuable for people transitioning home from hospital who need a higher level of care to recover safely, or for anyone whose needs have increased to the point where standard support is no longer enough.

If you’re caring for someone with these kinds of needs and wondering whether they can be safely supported at home, the answer is very often yes — with the right team in place.

Questions about funding, availability or where to start? We’re glad to help no jargon, no pressure.

Trained workers, delivered safely

High-intensity support is only as good as the people delivering it. Our workers receive specific training for the complex tasks they perform, and we match each participant with staff who have both the right skills and the right temperament. We maintain close oversight, keep detailed records, and stay in regular contact with your treating professionals so your care is coordinated rather than fragmented.

Safety and consistency go together. We work to keep the same trusted workers involved in your care, so they know you, your needs and your warning signs — and can respond quickly and confidently if anything changes.

Funding complex care through your NDIS plan

High-intensity supports are funded within the NDIS and often attract specific funding in recognition of the additional skill involved, with the details depending on your assessed needs and plan. If you’d like help understanding what’s available or arranging the right level of support, our support coordination team is here to guide you.

Complex needs deserve calm, expert, compassionate care. If you or someone you love needs high-intensity support at home, talk to us — we’ll help you put a safe, dependable team in place.
